Keka and I, Paloma studied art in Florence. Italy gave us culture and a path to follow, each at her own pace, each according to her age and circumstances, but what is clear is that she left her mark on us and today, twenty years later, we continue to study and grow artistically.
Near our house in Florence there was a beautiful flower shop, owned by a French girl, called “Jardin Divers”. There we bought fresh flowers for our home, gifts for our friends, or bouquets for special occasions. It is a name that brings back very special and pleasant memories, because our years of living in Italy were not only enriching from a cultural, personal or professional point of view; but they have left their mark on us to the point of ‘needing’ to return from time to time to breathe the spirit of the city that was our home, our refuge, for a long time.
Keka and I want to dedicate this exhibition: Jardin divers, to nature, color and harmony both outside and inside.
Keka’s watercolors and drawings often have empty sockets, but in reality, it is her way of expressing how important it is to look inward, observe and observe ourselves; dedicate some time to rest our mind and connect with our interior. They are their gardens of the soul… I wanted to reflect the light and the nuances of color that the memories of Florence inspire me. And both, as artists educated pictorially in Tuscany, we dedicate a small tribute to our years lived there and to our Italian ancestors.
